Syria Supports Russia’s Special Operation In Ukraine
Damascus, Feb 28: Syria supports Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, as every state has the right to defend itself against a military threat, Syrian presidential adviser Luna Al-Shibl told Sputnik on Monday.
“The West and the United States have used every opportunity to harm Russia both politically and militarily: therefore, each country has the right to defend itself in case of a military threat, and it should do it. Therefore, as I have already said, we certainly support this operation,” Al-Shibl said. The politician went on to say that Nazis in Ukraine create staged videos and falsify facts in the same way as representatives of the White Helmets did.
“It is worth remembering the war in Iraq and accusations of the presence of mass destruction weapons. Colin Powell [the former US Secretary of State] later confessed to this lie, saying that the information was false. The US and Western countries have used similar scenarios in a number of other states. And today in Ukraine, Nazis and fascists create staged scenarios and falsify facts — just as members of the terrorist organization White Helmets did,” Al-Shibl said.
The presidential adviser added that Damascus is not afraid of new possible Western sanctions related to the recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.
