Chandigarh, April 16: On the announcement of 300 units of free electricity by the Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) government of Punjab from July 1, the opposition party Congress has said that the truth of the reality of the announcement will be tested in the coming times. Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Vading tweeted, addressing to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and said that the reality of 300 units of free electricity will come to the fore when the details and conditions come out.
He has also extended ‘best wishes’ to Punjab Pradesh Electricity Corporation Limited, which will have to grapple with this. On the other hand, Congress MLA from Bholath, Sukhpal Singh Khaira, while welcoming Mann’s announcement, asked why from July 1? Are there any financial management problems? He also asked the Chief Minister to clarify that if 301 units of electricity are consumed, will the entire bill be recovered from the consumers? Along with this, Khaira also wanted to know whether the tubewell subsidy will be abolished?
