Bhopal, Jan 25: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has ordered the Director General of Police to have a first information report registered against the online shopping platform Amazon after it came to light that the company was selling footwear themed on the National Flag.
“This matter is anguishing. Any act that constitutes an insult to the nation will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Prima facie, this case appears to constitute a violation of the Flag Code,” the government spokesman told journalists on Tuesday in the state capital. Vitriolic protests are being registered in social media against Amazon and a campaign is underway to boycott it.
