BSP Will Form Govt With Majority: Mayawati

Agra, Feb 2: Launching her party’s election campaigning in Uttar Pradesh, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati on Wednesday claimed that her party was confident of forming a government with an absolute majority after assembly elections. In a public address at the Kothi Meena Bazar ground in this Taj city, Mayawati lashed out at the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“The Congress government at the Center did not even honor the author of the Constitution, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, with Bharat Ratna. The Congress government was in power even after the death of Kanshi Ram but did not declare national mourning even for a single day,” she said. Slamming the Samajwadi Party, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said: “Goons, mafia and looters were in the SP government.
“The Muzaffarnagar riots are a big example of the violence of the SP government. Besides, when a bill for reservation for promotion of government employees came, the Samajwadi Party did not allow it to pass,. This is the real character of SP,” she charged. At the same time, the policies and working style of the BJP government shows their motive is to implement a “casteist, capitalist and narrow agenda” of the RSS, Mayawati said.
“The BJP always spreads tension and hatred in the name of religion,” she said. “The Dalit society and women are not safe in this BJP government, but these crime figures against the Dalits are suppressed in the media,” she said. “Besides trying to end the reservation, the BJP government is making all government institutions private. Poverty, unemployment and inflation have increased due to the wrong economic policies of the BJP,” she said. She said the farmers were very upset because of the BJP government at the Center. Mayawati hit out at the media: “Some casteist media has left no stone unturned to demoralize the people of BSP by saying that their leader is not visible.”
