Lucknow, Feb 3: The Election Commission of India (ECI) will issue notification for sixth phase of polls in eastern Uttar Pradesh tomorrow when 57 seats of Purvanchal will go to polls on March 3. State chief electoral officer (CEO) Ajay Kumar Shukla said on Thursday that notification for the sixth phase will be issued tomorrow at 1100 hrs and thereafter nomination process will commence in 57 seats.
As per the schedule, in the sixth phase polling to be held on March 3 , filing of nominations will commence from February 4, last date for filing of nominations is February 11, scrutiny on February 14 and last date for withdrawal is February 14. In the sixth phase 57 assembly segments will go to polls in 10 districts of Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Gorakhpur, Deoria and Ballia.
In the 2017 polls, BJP sweeped 48 seats with BSP 4 seats, SP 2 Congress 2 and 2 by others. In the seventh and last phase polling to be held on March 7, filing of nominations will commence from February 10.Â
