Cuttack, June 10: Two judges Justice Subhasis Talapatra and Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra were sworn in as the new judges of the Odisha High Court on Friday.
Odisha High Court Chief Justice S Muralidhar administered the oath of office to the newly-appointed judges at a simple function held in the conference hall of the High Court.
With the swearing-in of two Judges, the number of Judges in the Orissa High Court rose to 23.
Justice Subhasis Talapatra has been transferred from the Tripura High Court to the Orissa High Court with the recommendation of Supreme Court (SC) Collegium which also proposed the elevation of advocate Sanjay Kumar Mishra as the new judge of the Orissa High Court.
Justice Talapatra was sworn in as an Additional Judge of the Guwahati High Court on November 15, 2011, but later on September 13, 2013, he was sworn in as a permanent judge of the Tripura High Court.
Advocate Sanjay Kumar Mishra after completing his LLB from M.S. Law College Cuttack in 1990 started his career as a lawyer in the Orissa High court.
