Security Arrangements For President’s Puri Visit

Puri, Feb 12: President Ram Nath Kovind will be scheduled to arrive in the pilgrim town on two-day visit, starting February 19.

As per the itinerary released by the President’s Office, he  will arrive in a helicopter at the helipad in the Puri town at 3.25 pm ​​on February 19. From helipad, he will directly go to a hotel to refresh and then have Lord Jagannath’s  darshan at around 5 pm.

On February 20, the President is scheduled to visit the Shri Chaitanya Gaudiya Mutt along the Grand Road and attend a special function there.

From the mutt, the President will leave for the Saradhabali ground to attend the program commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Srila Bhaktisidhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupada. In the afternoon, President is scheduled to return to Bhubaneswar.

This is the third visit of President Kovind to the Piligrim Town so far. The Puri district administration has already begun preparation for the President’s visit. The Dist. administration will engage 40 platoon of Police force for the First Citizen’s security. Apart from this 200 officials will be posted in different places to be vigilant of the security arrangements.

Senior police officials, led by Central Range IG of Police Narasingha Bhola and SP Kanwar Vishal Singh reviewed security arrangements in the town ahead of the visit. The police officials visited Chaitanya Gaudiya Mutt, Srimandir and the Saradhabali ground to examine the security arrangements.
