SEC Releases Odisha Panchayat Polls Dates, Check Details

Bhubaneswar: The Panchayat polls in Odisha are to be held in five phases kick starting from February 16, informed State Election Commissioner Aditya Prasad Padhi on Tuesday.

The polling will be held in five phases across the State with a gap of one day between each phase, Padhi added.

The notification for the polls will be issued by the election officials on January 13. Nomination papers can be filed from January 17 to 21. Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be done on January 22.

Candidates can withdraw their nomination by January 25 and the final list of candidates will be issued on the same day.

The panchayat elections in Odisha will be held over five phases next month from February 16 to 24. Voting will be held on February 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24 from 7 am to 1 pm.
The results will be declared on February 26, 27 and 28.

The model code of conduct comes into force from Tuesday till February 28, he said.

Only door-to-door and virtual campaigning has been allowed. No assembly or gatherings or rallies to be allowed. Polls to be held with strict adherence to COVID protocols.
