Sarkari Babu’s Chicanery Transaction Paid Off, Check How His Deceased Mother-In-Law Accepted Rs 64 lakh
Bhubaneswar, Apr 7: Superintending Engineer of Rural Works Division, Malkangiri Ashish Kumar Dash, who was arrested by the Odisha Vigilance on charges of amassing disproportionate assets, has made cash deposits worth Rs 64 lakh in the bank account of his deceased mother-in-law.
During the interrogation, Dash confessed to have made the cash despite in the bank account held in name of deceased mother- in-law, the vigilance said.
“Sri Ashish Dash, SE, RW, MKG who was arrested on 29.03.22 in DA case, was brought on 4 day remand. During interrogation he confessed to have made cash deposits worth Rs. 64 Lakh in bank acct. held in name of deceased Mother- in-Law (expired in 2010)”, the State Vigilance informed.
The Superintending Engineer had opened benami accounts in the name of his relations, servants, caretaker of his farm land and others, the vigilance said.
All such accounts have been freezed and the investigation is underway, it added.
Earlier, the vigilance sleuths have unearthed assets worth more than Rs 9 crore in the name of Dash and his family members during the searches.
