Bhubaneswar: Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for kin of the persons who lost their lives in the goods train mishap at Korai railway station in Jajpur district on Monday.
Vaishnaw expressed his grief on the loss of lives and also announced ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh each for treatment of critically injured persons, and Rs 25,000 for those who sustained minor injuries.
It is pertinent to mention that the goods train derailed and rammed into the waiting hall at the railway station. Three persons including two women died in the mishap while several others were injured. All the injured have been shifted to the district headquarters hospital.
