Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: Amid election frenzy in Odisha in a time span of just 19 days, Authorities in Odisha have seized over 1,13,686 liters of wine after the imposition of the model code of conduct for the upcoming assembly polls.
The liquor was seized between January 19 and February 6. The State DG has informed the State Election Commission regarding the matter.
In addition, 471.86 grams of drugs and 27 illegal weapons were also seized alongwith the issuance of warrant against 1492 people.
The model code is a set of guidelines, issued by the Election Commission, for political parties, candidates, government and the party in power during elections concerning speeches, announcements, election manifestos and general conduct.
