Bhubaneswar: After the Morbi bridge tragedy in Gujarat, the capacity of the suspension bridge to visit the Dhabaleswar shrine at Athagarh in Cuttack district has been reduced.
Only 200 devotees are being allowed to travel through the bridge to the shrine at a time. Earlier, 600 people were allowed on the bridge. The decision was taken following an inspection by an expert team from Kolkata.
Sub Collector Hemanta Kumar Swain asked people to avoid coming to the shrine. Only those who have vrats should visit the shrine. He informed that an all-season bridge is presently under construction which will complete in three months time.
