Bhubaneswar, Mar 5: It’s Dr. Suniti Mund, on whom the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Odisha has shown confidence for the candidature for the post of Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation(BMC). Few hours after the announcement of the ruling BJD candidature for the three major Municipality Corporations, opposition BJP has declared the former’s name in a press conference here on Saturday.
The announcement was made by Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi at the press meet. Following the announcement, Mund said that she has been inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ideals.
Mund, a native of Kalahandi district is a multi-faceted woman who juggles multiple roles in her daily life with equal panache.
She is a popular author in Odia literature, a Columnist, Editor, Publisher, TV Producer and a social activist.
She is the Chairperson of the Institute of Literature, Dakshya Foundation and Managing Director of Dakshya Venture Private Limited.
Earlier in the day, the BJD announced Sulochana Das as its Mayor candidate for Bhubaneswar while Madhusmita Acharya has been announced as the Congress’s candidate.
