Bhubaneswar, Feb 26: Voting for the three-tier panchayat elections concluded across the State on Thursday, the day day 1 of vote counting began on Saturday at 8 am.
The counting for 315 Zilla Parishad zones has begun as per the schedule of State Election Commission. Similarly, on February 27 and 28, counting for 307 and 229 Zilla Parishad zones will take place, respectively.
The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is confident of a landslide victory with peoples’ mandate. The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also hopeful of registering a better performance this time and the grand old party Congress(PCC) is pinning its hope on coming second in the race.
