Bhubaneswar, Mar 15: In a heinous incident, a nine-months pregnant woman was allegedly set ablaze by her husband Chandbali of Bhadrak district. The incident took place in Gopinathpur village under Balipada panchayat under Bansada police limits in Bhadrak district.
Reportedly, following a heated argument between the couple over dowry issues which later escalated and the husband set his nine-month pregnant wife on fire in an enraged state of mind.
On being informed, the victim’s family arrived at the spot along with the local police.
The wife’s family filed a written complaint against the husband and his family for their involvement in the matter alleging that they have tortured the victim over dowry issues.
Based on the written complaint, the cops have arrested the accused husband. A probe has been initiated into the matter. Further details awaited.
