Odisha Heatwave: Yellow Warning For 10 Districts
Bhubaneswar, March 15: Heatwave condition is likely to prevail in 10 districts of Odisha during March 16 to 18, according to the local meteorological centre.
The weather office predicted that the maximum day temperature during the period will rise by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in one or two places in the districts. Heatwaves are likely to prevail in the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Angul, Nayagarh, Khordha, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Mayurbhanj.
The weather office has already issued a yellow warning for these districts and advised the people to take all preventive measures while moving outdoors during noon.
The met department also predicted formation of a low-pressure area over the equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours. However, it would have no impact on Odisha, Uma Shankar Das of MET centre, Bhubaneswar said, while ruling out any rainfall in the state during the next five days.
