Odisha: Cabinet Approves 4 Mega Piped Water Projects 

Bhubaneswar, July 19: Four mega piped water supply projects will be executed in four districts of Odisha to provide safe drinking water to the people at a cost of around Rs 1164.43 crore.

The projects would be implemented in four districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Jagatsinghpur and Angul.

Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday took a decision to implement these four Mega water projects and accordingly approved the lowest tender bids for these projects.

After the Cabinet meeting Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari told the state Assembly M/S NCC Limited, Hyderabad, will execute the project in Koraput at a cost of Rs 261.97 crore .

M/S Surya International Enterprise Ltd, Hyderabad will implement the water project in Rayagada district at a cost of Rs 114.68 crore.

The M/S L & T Chennai will execute the project at a cost of Rs. 431.10 crore in Jagatsinghpur district while M/S NCC LTD Hyderabad will construct the project in Angul district at a cost Rs 356. 68 crore.

The projects have been planned to be completed in 24 months and would benefit 8,49,531 people in the four districts. These projects would be funded out of JJM funding, the Finance Minister said.
