Odisha Assembly Speaker To Be Sworn In Today: Vikram Keshari Arukh To Be Sworn In As New Speaker

Bhubaneswar, June 13: Odisha Assembly elections today. This has been done in a special session of the Legislature. Homework will begin at 10:30 a.m. The House will adjourn after the by-elections. Former Bhaspati Suryanarayana Patra resigned on July 7 for health reasons. Later, Vikram Keshari Arukh was announced as the BJP’s Bachchupati candidate.

Vikram Keshari had filed his nomination for the post of Arukh Bachchupati on the 10th. He had submitted his nomination papers to the Assembly Secretary on behalf of the BJP. In view of his seniority and experience, he has been removed from the cabinet and given the post of Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. Suryanarayana Patil, who is also the Speaker of the House of Representatives, resigned during the recent cabinet reshuffle. Suryanarayana Patra is in poor health and his son is being treated at the hospital.
