Bhubaneswar: Probe into the murder of an elderly man at Lendura Bhagabanpur village under Nemal police limits in Cuttack district revealed the involvement of his fraternal grandnephew.

The deceased Hrusikesh Muduli and his wife Kanaklata had been attacked by their grandnephew Omkar Muduli when he was caught stealing from their house. Hrusikesh died in the attack while Kanaklata was critically injured.

Following it, Omkar made it look like the crime was done by some looters who had barged into the house. However, police seized the murder weapon during the investigation and later nabbed Omkar during an attempt to flee.
