Low Pressure Area Over North Odisha Now Lies Over Coastal Odisha: Met

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), July 15: On Thursday’s low pressure area over North Odisha & neighbourhood now lies over coastal Odisha & neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level, Meteorological Centre here said on Friday.

Issuing a bulletin, it said the monsoon trough now passes through center of well marked low pressure area over Northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining coastal areas of Saurashtra & Kutch, Udaipur, Raisen, Jabalpur, Pendra Road, Hirakud, centre of Low Pressure Area over coastal Odisha & neighborhood and hence southeastwards to East central Bay of Bengal and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.

The east-west shear zone roughly along 19°N between 3.1 km & 7.6 km above mean sea level across North Peninsular India has become less marked.

Thunderstorm and lightning is likely at isolated places over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on July 17 and 18.

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at few places over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next five days, the bulletin said.
