Bhubaneswar, July 5: Bureau of Immigration (BOI) has issued Look out Circular against Bhiku Bisoi and Manikandan, both Directors of M/s Kinney Infotech Pvt. Ltd for duping hundreds of Job seekers to the tune of over Rs one crore, official sources said here on Tuesday.
The look out notice was issued on the request of the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Bhubaneswar under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information and Technology (IT) Act.According to EOW, M/s Kinney Infotech Pvt. Ltd had collected money from a large number of Job seekers through its office bearers for providing job/ work from home.
Investigation of the case revealed that during 2021, both Bhiku Bisoi and Manikandan of Chennai being the Directors of M/s Kinney Infotech Pvt. Ltd. opened its office at Bhanjanagar and employed some agents to persuade the common people to invest with their company with false assurance of providing job /work from home.
A large number of unemployed people had invested crores of rupees with the company with the hope to geting jobs. But the accused persons misappropriated the invested amounts, closed the office and fled.
The two accused were also directors of several other companies.
A Look Out circular is generally issued to immigration check posts at airports/seaports to alert them in case the wanted person tries to leave the country or arrive from abroad.
EOW suspected that the two accused are hiding in Malaysia.
Sources said over 100 duped investors have been identified who have been cheated of more than Rs one crore.The SDJM, Bhanjanagar has issued non-bailable warrants against both the accused – Bhiku Bisoi and Manikandan.
So far four office bearers of the M/s Kinney Infotech engaged in unauthorised collection of public deposits have been arrested and sent to judicial custody by a local court.
The EOW has announced that anyone giving credible information leading to arrest of the two accused will be suitably rewarded.
