Heat Wave Alert Across Odisha
Bhubaneswar, Apr 22: The capital city temperature touches 40 degree Celsius on Friday. The Regional Meteorological Centre has also forecasted heat wave conditions temperature rise by 3-5°C to derail the normal life of people across Odisha in coming 2 to 3 days.
“Maximum temperature (day temperature) very likely to fall by 2-4°C during next 24 hours at many places over the districts of interior Odisha and thereafter it will again rise gradually by 3 to 5°C at many places over the districts of Odisha,” the Meteorological Centre predicted.
Several parts of Odisha reeled under intense heat wave conditions today while capital city Bhubaneswar recorded maximum temperature of 40°C by 2.30 pm.
The Meteorological Centre has also issued thunderstorm warning for Kalahandi, Koraput, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and hailstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Boudh, and thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha on Friday.
