Forest Staff Injured In Attack During Raid

Bhubaneswar: A Forest Range Officer and two other forest department personnel were injured after being attacked during a raid at Adelbeda village under Kendumundi Wild Life Range in Mayurbhanj district late Monday night.

As per sources, some forest personnel had conducted a raid at the village last night to nab wildlife smugglers. However, they were attacked by the villagers and three of them including the Range Officer of Kendumundi Wild Life Range were detained.

They were rescued after two hours by Thakurmunda Police and Karanjia DFO. The trio had sustained critical injuries in the attack. They were first admitted to Karanjia hospital from where the Range Officer and other staff member were shifted to Keonjhar hospital.
