Puri, April 18 : With state honours the mortal remains of legendary singer, music composer, director and columnist Prafulla Kar were consigned to flames at Swargdwar crematorium on Monday. The body was brought in a procession to his native town for cremation. Ministers Pratap Jena, Samir Dash, state planning board vice chairman Sanjay Dasburma, local MLA Jayant Kumar Sadangi, former MP Tathagat Satpathy laid wreaths on the funeral pyre. District collector Samarth Verma, superintendent of police K Vishal Singh and sub-collector Bhabataran Sahu paid floral tributes. His eldest son Mahadip Kar performed the last rites.
