SAI International School, Bhubaneswar’s “Spark Of Future” Shines With A Model Initiative

Bhubaneswar, Aug 27: Smart India Hackathon 2022 was organised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in which team “Spark Of Future” from SAI International School, Bhubaneswar were declared as a winner in the junior category.

The team comprised of Nishant Kartik Nayak, Shibam Sundar Mahakud and Simran Misra from grade 11. They had submitted a project called “HELIOS”, under the category Renewable/Sustainable energy.

HELIOS, standing for “Harnessing Electricity in Outer Space”, aims to prove as an alternative energy source to the current non-renewable sources of energy like fossil fuels, which are limited in stock and pollute the environment. It utilises solar energy directly from space and supplies it to Earth to be used as electricity. It is much more reliable than ground based solar power as it provides uninterrupted and larger amount of energy 24/7, 365 days a year.
The team received a cash reward of 25,000 rupees.
