23 New Omicron Cases In Odisha, Positive Tally Touches 37

Bhubaneswar, Jan 2: With more 23 Omicron positive cases, the infected tally in Odisha now turns 37 on Sunday. Like other states of India, the state also witnessed a steep spike in the beginning of 2022.

As per the State Health Department, all the samples were sent for genome sequencing at the Institute Of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar.

It is pertinent to mention here that Odisha had first reported two cases of Omicron infection on December 21, 2021. The infected duo had returned from Nigeria and Qatar, respectively.

The State Omicron tally subsequently jumped to four after the detection of two more cases on December 23. The Omicron tally in Odisha had jumped to 14 after five cases were reported on December 30, 2021. The steep rise of Omicron positive cases shows inattentiveness and cloudlessness at different levels.
