Befitting Diwali gift: Odisha abolishes contractual system of recruitment

Bhubaneswar, Oct 15 :Nothing could have been a better gift before the Diwali this year than what the chief minister Naveen Patnaik has offered to the govetrnment employees in contract. He has finished the shadow of uncertainty by making all permanent.

Putting an end to the contractual system of recruitment, the Odisha cabinet on Saturday decided to abolish the contractual system of recruitment permanently.

In a statement to the people of Odisha after the cabinet,Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, the decision of the cabinet brings early Diwali for their family members.

The era of contractual recruitment has come to an end in Odisha, he said adding “ I was waiting for this for this moment.”.

The notification will come out tomorrow and more than 57,000 employees will be benefited with the abolition of the contractual system,the Chief Minister said.

The Government, Patnaik said, will spend approximately Rs.1300 crore per annum.

Today, Odisha is moving ahead with confidence.A strong and empowered Odisha. This is a golden moment in the history of Odisha,he said.

Patnaik suggested all the Government employees to work sincerely,serve the people with commitment and follow the 5-T initiative of Team work, Technology, Transparency, Time and Transformation diligently while discharging your duty.

Work hard to enhance the image of Odisha , and play a significant role in the transformation of Odisha, he remarked.
