‘World Respects Indian Passport’: Pak PM
Apr 2: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has praised India once again saying the world respects the Indian passport. Praising India for pursuing an independent foreign policy, Khan lauded New Delhi for talking to everyone.
“Look at the foreign policy of India. They talk to everyone. See the respect of the passport of India and the respect given to Pakistan passport,” he said.
Our foreign policy should be that we should be friends with everyone, he added.
This is the second time Imran has praised India.
Earlier, while addressing a public meeting in the Dargai area of Malakand, he had said that New Delhi has an ‘independent’ foreign policy that was favourable to own people.
Imran’s new found love for Narendra Modi’s India invited sharp reactions from Pakistani Opposition.
The leader of opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif had called it “the most bizarre statement to date” saying that New Delhi has accused Pakistan of terrorism, opposed CPEC and has robbed Kashmiris of their statehood.
Sharif, who is likely to replace Imran Khan, also blasted him for endangering the global interest of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, ahead of a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly, Imran said he has credible information that his “life is in danger”.
‘Plot to assassinate Imran Khan’
In an interview to ARY News, Khan said not only his life was in danger but the Opposition, which is playing in foreign hands, will also resort to his character assassination.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had claimed that a plot to assassinate the Prime Minister.
Addressing the Islamabad Security Dialogue, he also said that a powerful country, which is supporting India, is angry with Pakistan because of his recent visit to Russia.
The embattled PM on Wednesday effectively lost majority in Parliament after Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), a key partner of the ruling coalition, joined the ranks of the Opposition.
