Voices Of Humanists Found Drowned In Fear Of Diplomatic Reprisal ! Or Is It Selective Humanism?

January 27, Thursday was the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. According to a report in the media platform, a host of known human activists and intellectuals from India and outside, had put their heads together in Jammu, over the ‘genocidal’ activities being perpetuated by Pakistan.

Hence, the panelists made an unequivocal demand for exercising moral pressure on Pakistan to refrain from genocidal activities which is not only outrageous but highly detrimental to the tenets of human rights.

Liquidation of the minority communities in Pakistan and adjoining areas in the Indian sub-continent has remained as one of the most condemnable acts of Pakistan.

Religious minorities do not feel safe in Pakistan

There is no second opinion on that. But the giant lenses of the entire world somehow overlooked another act of some civilized nations.

That is, the worst ever consternation the Founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, has been subjected to this date.  Now Assange rots in a British prison with his health deteriorating fast and his mental state seemed jeopardized beyond any comprehension, this has come out in the Newyork Times column.

For which, the report said that, he has sharply “rebuked’ the United Kingdom, Unites States of America and Sweden those have “ganged up” on Assange.

According to the United Nation’s Special rapporteur on ‘torture and ill treatment’ , Nils Melzer, who met Assange, that the latter has lost his ‘capacity to focus and coordination have been clearly affected’ post his imprisonment.

Charges those have been framed against Assange, Melzer pointed out, are alleged charges of ‘conspiracy to hack into Pentagon Computer’ and at the same time the UN’s rapporteur underscored that, “Assange’s punishment can only be described as “ psychological torture”.

A tall claimant of Human Rights, UK, in response to Melzer’s communication has contradicted with many of the Melzer’s findings and others have not responded.

It is not alone Melzer, as an official of the UN, to have assailed the actions of the judicial apparatus, forcing the WeakiLeak founder to get singed by psychological ‘torture’ but the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention condemned the detention of 50 weeks jail for jumping a bail, as ‘excessive’ and said that sending him to a high security prison “was akin to a conviction for more serious crime”.

The man who rose to international fame in with the release of leaked diplomatic and military files, in 2010, provided by a former attorney, Chelsea Manning, a former intelligence analyst, and in 2016 he published a Democratic National Committee emails stolen by Russia.

It was his role in 2010 that could clear the fog of a war for which he never has been praised for once. Why cannot India even raise an alarm over the fast deteriorating health of a man who has immense contribution towards peace as well. He has reduced in health to more than half he was.
