Ten Karnataka Students Enroute To Airport Stranded In Ukraine: Bommai

Bengaluru, Feb 24 : Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said there are 10 students from the state stranded in Ukraine after Russia launched an all-out attack on the country. “There are 100 students stranded in two buses on route to the airport, out of which 10 are Kannadigas, he told reporters her. The state government is taking appropriate steps to bring back Karnataka students stranded in Ukraine. “The Indian Embassy in Ukraine has issued suitable guidelines for the safety of Indian students. Action is being taken to bring them back safely once the flight services resume.
We are in constant touch with the Foreign Secretary and I will discuss it with our External Affairs minister too,” Bommai said. Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy at Kyiv is working out modalities of evacuating Indian citizens from Ukraine through neighboring nations along the western border of the country. The embassy will continue to operate till every Indian is back home safely, Indian Ambassador to Ukraine Partha Satpathy said on Thursday. As of now, the stranded Indians have been advised to stay put wherever they are in their normal area of habitation and those on transit should return to normal areas, the ambassador said. Satpathy also advised stranded Indians in Kyiv to reach out friends, families, Indian community members, and the Indian Embassy for their safety.
