3 BJD Candidates Elected To Rajya Sabha Uncontested

Bhubaneswar, June 3: Three candidates of the BJD, Sulata Deo, Manas Mangaraj and Sasmit Patra were elected to the Rajya Sabha, uncontested, on Friday.

Due to strength crunch in the Assembly, both Congress and the BJP, did not field candidates for the election to the Upper House of the Parliament.

Patra has been elected to the Rajya Sabha for the second time while Sulata Deo and Manas Mangaraj are first-timers to the Parliament.

The candidates were awarded the certificate of election by the returning officer here today.

They thanked Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik and said that Odisha’s concerns will be rightfully placed in the Parliament.
