Sinha gets warm welcome in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, July 2 : Opposition presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha was on Saturday accorded a warm welcome as he arrived here on Saturday and formally sought the support from TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao as well as the MIM.

On his arrival at the Begumpet airport, the 84-year-old Sinha was received by the Chief Minister, TRS Working President and Minister K T Rama Rao, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MPs as well as Cabinet Ministers.

Sinha was taken in a huge bike rally with 10,000 vehicles organized by the ruling TRS from the airport to Jal Vihar on Necklace Road where the presidential candidate addressed TRS representatives and sought their support in the July 18 election.

TRS MPs, MLAs and a large number of party workers participated in the rally.

Sinha is also set to meet leaders of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), which has also announced its support to him.

Though Telangana Congress chief Revenath Reddy had earlier announced that no party member will meet Sinha, senior Congress leader Hanumantha Rao was at the airport to welcome him.

Sinha, a former BJP leader and a former Union Minister, will later fly to Bengaluru as part of his campaign.

The police had made massive security arrangements in view of the huge bike rally organised by the TRS to welcome Sinha, coinciding with the lunch of the BJP’s National Executive Committee meeting in Hyderabad.
