‘Sanjeev Kumar Never Acted’ Gautam Adani but “moulded himself in the characters “ like common man’s superstar”

It is rare that, an industrial entrepreneur as big as Gautam Adani, as any other cine goer can evince interest in cinema. And that too taking all of us down the memory lane to the golden eras of cinema.

There cannot be a better assimilation of thoughts relatable to ordinary lives as Adani reinvents himself in the annals of art.

Imagine what he said and how wisely, like an ardent cine lover.

It was regarding one actor, Sanjeev Kumar, who hardly requires any introduction.  The occasion was auspicious, the release of the book on Sanjeev Kumar by Reeta Ramamurty Gupta, “Sanjeev Kumar”.

It was a keen observation like any avid cinemagoer “ Sanjeev Kumar was not acting, but he was moulding himself into the characters he was given to perform” Adani said.

Be it ‘Mausam’ or ‘Swarag Narak’ the off-screen indentity of the actor was always being buried in the thick of transformation into the characters.

A big fan of Sanjeev Kumar, Gautam Adani, the billionare businessmen recalled “that was his genius” a rare trait which always made Kumar an adorable artist and Adani’s artistic magnanimity showed itself in an one liner “ he was a common man’s superstar”.

Recalling the actor Adani quipped that, his roles “ stood apart for their ease and natural protrayal “.

His powerful performance in the epoch-making ‘Sholay’ or the fluidity of the characterisation in ‘Aandhi’’ have enriched the repertoire of cinema irreplaceably.

That coming from the chairperson  of the Adani  Group, a man who is told to be an avid reader of books, his interest in art is always a stimulus for many.
