Right Hand Does Not Know, What Left Does! ‘Wild Card’ Hangs Over, Hold Back Relaxations

By D N Singh

At a time when life gears up for an offline pace all over, the looming danger, as told by the World Health Organisation, another sword hangs on each head.

Although the WHO is patiently studying into the possible menace of ‘Wild Card’ (new Covid-19 variant), but the latter has issued a serious note on the new invader.

Here the question and what is paramount, is the lack of any definitive analysis which is being heaped on the psyche of people.

May be hours have passed when the screams right from the parliament down to the ground, the governments are indulging in a trial and error method to permit 100 % free hold to functioning of schools to offices, the warnings from the WHO cannot be left unheard.

The new variant’s possibility is very high, says WHO and it has further cautioned that, more new variants also cannot be ruled out. And the dangers from these new variants are going to be a sequel to Omicron.

WHO’s Maria Van Kerkhove is on record saying that, besides Wild Card, the possibility of more such malevolent variants are being looked into.

This seems peculiar that, when the governments have made the air easy to breath saying, every thing is okay and life must go on as usual, on the other the claims by the WHO are being given a second fiddle amid all euphoria.

It seems, as if, the right hand does not know what the left is doing! For the students of lower age group, from two years or more long online mode of teachings, an abrupt call for offline examinations has sent a chill down the spines of majority students.

Life must go on..is ok.. but life cannot be allowed to go away from us and that is where all the governments in and outside India have been laughably exposed.

Kerkhove is categorical that, omicron is not the last one. While the WHO tracking the Wild Card, but the virus has more room for movements, it said in a live streaming press meet with the media.

More mutants are imminent, Omicron is not the last, B-2 Sub-variant is hard to be identified!

Then why the people at the top not allow a bit more breathing space for the people and the students in particular, amidst a beleaguered health sector in India.
