Punjab To Probe PM Security Lapse

New Delhi, Jan 6: The Punjab government on Thursday set up a high-level committee to probe the breach of security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s motorcade in Ferozepur on Wednesday. The panel will submit its report within three days, an official spokesperson said.

The committee would comprise Retired Justice Mehtab Singh Gill and Anurag Verma, the Principal Secretary of Home Affairs and Justice.

The Home Ministry took note of the security lapse and sought a detailed report from the state government asking it to fix the responsibility and take strict action.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has said that the Wednesday incident was a deliberate bid to physically harm Modi.
