Odisha government has remained in the lead as regards enforcing measures against the pandemic from day one.
Be it lockdowns or curfews Chief Minister has played a central role in administering the Covid-19 appropriate behavior across board. Even much before other states could do it.
Time and again the administration and the leadership has aired cautions through the media. Even post the second wave of Covid-19 the Chief Minister has been persistently maintaining that, as the dangers were not over. However, what appears missing is a fool-proof medical know- how all over the country. Which could have played a constructive role in clearing the clouds over the symptoms and medical interventions.
Which still remains an area where a fool-proof palliative recourse still missing. It is a problem not relating any particular state but a double whammy which bugs many states.
However, this time also the Odisha government has demonstrated an alacrity coupled with appeals from the top not to drop the gears.
Now the recent measures like closure of educational institutions and sizing down the attendance in government offices and some private bodies surely would help muzzling the spikes in the days to come.
It has paid dividends but some people have shown the attitude of carelessness towards the possible recurrences which now has become an imploding reality.
Anyway, now it is time for the people in general, including political leaders to set the parameters of caution. No authority can enforce the measures with a dangling baton.
