Covid Surge: Shree Mandir Closed From Jan 10th-31st

Puri, Jan 7: The steep rise in Covid+ cases, fear of Omicron and the newer mutant threats have forced the Odisha State Govt become more alert and vigilant. With the reinforcement of Night Curfew Covid guidelines from Friday onwards, the Puri administration has decided to close Shree Mandir for general people from Jan 10-31st. The servitors (Sevayatas) of Lord are only allowed for worship and daily temple rituals under covid guidelines.

As per the January Covid Guidelines is being imposed from today and the Night Curfew, Shree Mandir will be closed at 8.30pm from Friday. Earlier Shree Jagannath Temple was open till 9.30pm for general public and devotees. Puri District Collector, Samarth Verma has informed this after a Virtual Meeting with Temple admin and Chatisa Nijog.

The January Covid Guidelines will be enforced in all Urban Areas of Odisha from Jan 7. The Night Curfew will be imposed from 9pm to morning 5am. The state government has also sent directives to squeeze crowd in Market Complexes and Shopping Malls. Incase of disobey, the concerned Shop and malls will be forcefully closed for 7 days. At a stretch, only 5 customers are allowed in road-side shops. All State Govt. offices will be operative with 50% staff capacity and mobile patrolling will be stricter from today onwards, said Samarth Verma.
