New Delhi: Draupadi Murmu Meets PM Modi & Union Mins

New Delhi, June 23: NDA’s presidential candidate, Draupadi Murmu on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter’s official residence in New Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said through a tweet.

Murmu also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday.

Murmu reached New Delhi from Bhubaneswar today, ahead of her filing of nomination papers on Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah, and BJP president J P Nadda are among the leaders of the ruling party who have signed the papers as proposers.

Besides, BJD’s Sasmit Patra, Tukuni Sahu and Jagannath Saraka have also signed as proposers.

It is pertinent to mention that the presidential poll will be held on July 18, 2022, and counting will take place on July 21. The nomination filing began on June 15 and the last date for filing nominations is on June 29.

Polling will be held in the Parliament House and the premises of the State Legislative Assemblies.

The total number of electors will be 4,809 including 776 Members of Parliament and 4,033 Members of Legislative Assemblies. The total value of the votes will be 10 lakh 86 thousand 431, said sources.
