Lalu Yadav To Be Kept In Paying Ward Of RIMS
Ranchi, Feb 15: Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav who has been convicted in Doranda Treasury Case of the multi crore Fodder Scam will be kept in room number A11 of the paying ward of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences.
After his conviction Lalu Yadav’s lawyer had appealed to the court that since his health is not good therefore he should be kept in RIMS instead of jail on which the court had agreed.
Room A11 located on the first floor of the paying ward of RIMS has been cleaned. At the same time, testing of other electronic equipment including fridge, TV, AC, geyser installed in the room has also been done. Yadav is suffering from many serious diseases. Hospital authorities said that once Lalu Yadav reaches RIMS a medical board will be formed for his treatment and there will be specialist doctors of many departments in the board.
Former Bihar CM Lalu Yadav has been convicted a special CBI Court in case number RC47A/96 related to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 139.35 crore from Doranda Treasury of unified Bihar on Tuesday while the quantum of sentencing will be announced on February 21.
A total 75 people including Lalu Yadav were held guilty by the court of special CBI Judge SK Sashi while 24 others have been acquitted in this case. The CBI had produced a total of 575 in the court. Lalu Prasad has been previously convicted in four more cases of fodder scam in which there are two cases of illegal withdrawal from Chaibasa treasury and one each from Deoghar and Dumka treasury. He was currently out on bail.
