India Supplies Third Batch Of Life-Saving Medicines To Afghanistan

New Delhi, Jan 7: India on Friday supplied the third batch of medical assistance to Afghanistan, comprising of two tonnes of essential life-saving medicines, as part of its ongoing humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.

The medicines were handed over to the Indira Gandhi Hospital, Kabul.

“India stands committed to continue our special relationship with the people of Afghanistan and provide them humanitarian assistance,” said an official statement.

India earlier supplied 500,000 doses of COVID vaccines and 1.6 tons of medical assistance to Afghanistan through the World Health Organization (WHO).

“In coming weeks, we would be supplying more batches of humanitarian assistance consisting of medicines and food grains to Afghanistan,” it said.
