CM Naveen Undertakes Brisk Walk To Gandhi Marg Venue leaving His Critics’ Eyes Bulging
By D N Singh
It was perhaps for the first time that, a chief minister ditches all security restrictions before going to participate in the 73rd Republic Day parade on Wednesday.
After reaching the Secretariat, the CM left all guessing and preferred a brisk walk down to Gandhi Marg where the R Day parade had to take place.
For a while the security personnel of the CM were taken aback as the 76 year old chief minister undertook a brisk walk up to the podium without even a break on the way, The entire crowd and party workers and officials were left astounded at the sport demonstrated by the chief minister.
The issue assumes relevance because, there had been a sustained rumour mongering over his health conditions.
Nothing could have been a more befitting rebuttal to his critics than a walk up to the parade venue without a moment of faltering.
He abandoned the official vehicle at the secretariat premises and undertook the walk leaving an air of excitement and a sense of well-being and euphoria. Which today leaves the glib-talkers with a bitterness in their mind.
It was a stern yet sportive negation of what can be called, politics of desperation.
