Can Sloganeering Camouflage The Bottom Realities

By D N Singh

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is the latest political buzz from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the 75th Independence. This under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav being observed.

Although it has to be a voluntary option for Har Nagarik(each citizen) but the bottom issue is, can such calls can be a balm for the grinding pain of rising prices at all fronts, from the kitchen to the roads?

Even RSS Is Worried

GST has bared yet another set of its ugly teeth and on the employment front the problems have multiplied times.

None other than the RSS General Secretary, and the man, perhaps to succeed Mohan Bhagwat,  Dattatreya Hosabale has raised serious concern over the spikes in food prices.

Hosabale has been unsparing in his criticism on the failures by the government to control the prices and bring it to an affordable range.

It has to be taken with all seriousness, Hosabale has cautioned very recently.

It is not to say that there should be an element of politics in everything. But there are news like meeting of the BJP chef ministers in which the other focus area is 2024 lok sabha elections.

Which, instead, should have been headlined as the CMs to meet the challenges before the people on the ground  as mentioned above.

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ does reminisce the days when there was Covid outbreak in India and when a call was given to light lamps and beat bales all over the country. Which not only proved itself shrill and vacuous in effect but, such gatherings had adverse effect of the Covid front.

Nationalism pitch is fine and hoisting the ‘Tiranga’ is no less encouraging but would such exercise alleviate the pains like price rise in essential commodities and fuels and so on which may soon push the country to the brink of affordability crises soon.

Sloganeering in politics is part of the game but politics should not have the mandate to camouflage reality at the bottom.
