BJP To Contest All 40 Seats In Goa: Tanavade

Panaji, Jan 18: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Goa unit President Sadanand Shet Tanavade on Tuesday said that the party would field its candidates in all the 40 assembly constituencies in the forthcoming assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters in the city, he said, ‘Earlier, we used to contest 35 or 37 seats but this time we would be contesting all the 40 seats. A decision in this regard was taken today.’

He said the state unit has sent the names of candidates to the party’s parliamentary board which would take a final decision.

Earlier, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that he along with Tanavade, party’s organisation Secretary Satish Dhodh and Union Minister Shripad Naik would be visiting Delhi tonight. According to the chief minister, the party would announce the name of candidates on January 19, 2022.

Assembly elections in Goa are to be held on February 14, 2022.
