Security Tightened In Jahangirpuri Area On Eid
New Delhi, May 3: Taking into account the last month clashes in Jahangirpuri area, the Delhi Police deployed additional force and put barricades on strategic points in the violence-hit area, so as to avoid any untoward incident and make the festival of Eid pass off peacefully.
A clash had broken out between two groups during Hanuman Jayanti procession in Jahangirpuri in April, leading to injuries to several people, including eight police personnel.
Besides, intensive rooftop surveillances through aerial patrolling in sensitive areas were being done across the National Capital, sources said.
Police officials from various districts reached out to communities and appealed to maintain peace and harmony at all times.
Last month, Aman committee meeting was held with residents of Jahangirpuri to maintain peace and tranquility in the area. In the meeting, Aman committee members were asked to appeal to their respective communities to maintain peace and harmony.
Besides this, a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ was also organised in the area to maintain brotherhood and peace among the residents.
