Filmmaker Rips Apart ‘Urban Naxals’ For Alleged Role In Valley Unrest

Mumbai, Feb 5: Director, screenwriter and author Vivek Agnihotri, best known for films “Chocolate”, “Hate Story” and “Tashkent Files” and being a key commentator on socio political issues, has lashed out at “urban naxals” for their extreme ill impact on the Kashmir situation. Calling them out as one of the nation’s most dangerous enemies, even more than armed terrorist, Agnihotri issued a string of tweets.
He questioned: “Who started gun culture in the Valley in first place? Who brought the guns to Kashmir? And who justified terrorism under the garb of ‘Free Kashmir? ” Going into the battle of false narratives, he explained how an anti-India narrative has turned into an anti-Hindu narrative.
Elaborating further he said “urban naxals” will will bash the Army and their efforts to eliminate terrorism, bash Hindus, the government for using force to deal with the problem but tend to remain silent on the Islamist killings, rape, extortion, robbery and arson. He said since “Kashmir turmoil” is their bread basket as such they never want it resolved.
Vivek Agnihotri tweeted :“KASHMIR & #URBANNAXALS “In last 4 yrs of extensive research spread all over the world, I have come to conclusion that #UrbanNaxals are more evil and dangerous than the terrorists with guns. They have harmed Kashmir more than these terrorists. I’ll tell you how…. “…India’s enemies fund & train #UrbanNaxals to pose as media or intellectuals, to build false narratives to keep Kashmir in perpetual conflict. Without ‘Free Kashmir’ activism you can’t be funded by India’s enemies. ‘Free Kashmir’ is a status symbol in global activism… “…Kashmir activism gets them money and entry to exclusive clubs. Very few of them have ever visited Kashmir, that too to take a selfie in Dal Lake. All of them have some dubious connection with scheming mentors across the borders. They are all linked to anti-India think tanks… “…Kashmir is bread & butter for #UrbanNaxals, obviously they don’t want Kashmir to get resolved, otherwise what will they do for a living? That is why, recent elimination of a large number of militants is hurting them and their frustration is clearly visible in their SM posts… “#UrbanNaxals label those who want Kashmir issue to be resolved as fascists and anti-Muslim. They blame the Army for the elimination of dreaded terrorists. Now, they have taken Hindu-bashing to world media to provoke global Muslim societies and keep the conflict alive… “…In Kashmir today, majority wants terror/conflict to end. #UrbanNaxals media doesn’t report Killings, extortion, abductions, rapes by Islamic Terrorists. Therefore common Kashmiris have started sharing information of terrorists with the security forces ‘voluntarily’… “So, #UrbanNaxals have shifted anti-India narrative to anti-Hindu to provoke and keep the communal conflict alive. They know well that even if Terrorists strength increases exponentially, they won’t be able to fight the strength and resolve of the Narendra Modi government… “…In 35 years, thousands have died due to terrorism which was started in 80s by Pakistan & conniving separatists in a nexus with Islamist politicians. Urban Naxals were appointed and trained to create an anti-India narrative to corner Indian state… “…In 80s, gun culture was introduced. Bomb blasts, killings and atrocities by terrorists reached unprecedented levels. Genocide of Kashmiri Pandits took place and security situation went out of control. Given these circumstances, what could one expect from the Government? … “Resultantly, govt increased forces and terrorism was tackled with force. So let us ask ourselves the moot question – who started it in the first place? Who brought the guns to Kashmir? And who justified terrorism under the garb of ‘Free Kashmir? Answer is #UrbanNaxals.”

His latest film is “The Kashmir Files” which deals with the exodus and genocide of Kashmiri Hindus in 90s, and explores the factors that enabled such bloody and gruesome tidings. The movie had its pre release premier in the US and was organized by the Kashmiri Pandit diaspora, receiving highly positive reviews. The film was scheduled to be released in India on Republic Day but has been delayed
