Bhubaneswar, May 1: Deogarh MLA, Subash Chandra Panigrahi and 3 of his aides has been arrested by police on Sunday from his official residence here. The legislator was arrested over alleged attack to the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Tileibani block yesterday.
The BDO, Krushna Chandra Dalapati has filed a police complaint against in this matter on Saturday.
According to the complaint, Panigrahi had asked Dalapati to meet him over a matter. “As I was away for an inspection at Chhepalipali, I expressed my inability to come and meet him at that time. Irked with my reply, though I was very polite in my approach, the MLA came with his supporters to the village and assaulted me,” said Dalapati.
Meanwhile, Panigrahi has also lodged a counter-complaint against the BDO, reports stated.
