Mumbai, Feb 20 (UNI) Ranveer Singh on Sunday won the Best Actor award for his film ’83’ at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2022. The actor took to social media to post his gratitude: “Honoured to receive the ‘Best Actor’ award for ’83’ at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2022 Thank you for the love.” Ranveer plays the role of former cricketer Kapil Dev in The film ’83’, which released in theatres on December 24.
The film is directed by Kabir Khan and follows the journey of the Indian team, rank underdogs having won just a single game in the previous two World Cups, as they upset reigning champions the West Indies to lift the trophy. The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2022 (DPIFF) is not to be confused with the Dada Saheb Phalke National awards, which is given by the Govt of India. U
