Pope Drops Hint On Visiting Ukraine
Vatican City, April 2 : Pope Francis on Saturday dropped a major hint of visiting Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, after receiving invitation for the same from Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky and other political bigwigs of the war-torn country. Talking to reporters in plane during his visit to Malta, Pope said that a trip to Ukraine was “on the table”. “Yes, it is on the table,” said Pope in reply to a query, CNN reported, adding that he greeted 70 journalists onboard his plane to Malta, saying, “It will be a nice trip.” Pope revealed that he had received a letter and a photograph from relatives of Pierre Zakrzewski, a 55-year-old Fox News cameraman, who was killed in Ukraine, along with fellow journalist Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshynova (24) from Ukraine, who was working as a consultant for Fox News. Pope Francis looked at Pierre’s photo and said in French, “He is up there.”
