Patna, Jan 28: Students in different parts of the state protested against irregularities in the results announced by Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) for various posts under Non Technical Popular Category (NTPC) during day long Bihar bandh on Friday.
Various students’ organisations including All India Students Association (AISA), All India Students Federation (ASIF) and Students Federation of India (SFI) called for Bihar bandh on Friday to protest against irregularities in RRB NTPC results.
A large number of students also came out on the streets on their own without the banners of any organisation to vent their anger.
Grand Alliance comprising the main opposition party RJD, Congress, CPI(ML), CPI and CPI(M) also extended their support to the Bihar bandh call given by various organisations. Leaders of the Grand Alliance alleged that a great injustice was meted out to students and demanded that the government take immediate steps for the redressal of their grievances.
In Patna, a large number of students gathered at Dakbungalow crossing and paralysed traffic movement. Heavy deployment of police was made to prevent any untoward incident. Students were also seen protesting on other roads in the state capital causing problems in the movement of people. Legislators of political parties of the Grand Alliance were also out on the streets protesting along with the students.
They said that the students feel let down after the announcement of RRB NTPC results. Reports of protests also continue to pour in from various districts including Nawada, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Bhojpur and Buxar.
Security personnel have been deployed at Railway stations to prevent any damage of trains and other railway property by the protesting students. As it is, strong students’ protest had triggered on January 24 when large number of students reached Rajendra Nagar Terminal in Patna and paralysed movement of trains for several hours.
Some important trains including Patna-New Delhi Rajdhani express and Tejas express were cancelled due to the students protest. Their protests have continued unabated in various parts of Bihar for the last four days
