SJVN Conferred With 13th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards
Hamirpur, April 8: SJVN has been conferred with the 13th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards 2022 in the categories of ‘Corona Warriors Award’ and ‘Partners in Progress.’ These prestigious awards have been conferred to SJVN for exceptional contributions and initiatives in Health & Hygiene, Education & Skill Development, Infrastructural development, and Sustainable development under its Corporate Social Responsibility.
Besides these two awards, Geeta Kapur Director (Personnel) & Chairperson, SJVN Foundation has also been honored with ‘CIDC Chairman’s Commendation Trophy in the Individual Capacity.’ These awards have been received by Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel) from Dr. P.R. Swarup, Director General CIDC in a glittering function held in New Delhi.
Nand Lal Sharma, CMD, SJVN said that it is a proud moment for the Organization and getting these awards is a testimony of the Par Excellence CSR contributions made by SJVN. Sharma stated that SJVN has always been at the forefront of its role as a responsible Corporate Citizen and has been pioneering Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities toward its stakeholders and society. Since its inception, SJVN has spent more than Rs. 340 Crores in various CSR activities in the verticals of Education, Health, Sanitation, Infrastructural Development, Women and Child Care, Sustainability, Assistance during Natural Calamities, etc.
Sharma stated that, at the very outset, SJVN had perceived the threat of the Global Pandemic (Covid-19) and promptly initiated a dispersal of Relief and Aid measures which included financial assistance to Central and State Governments. Sharma further apprised that SJVN also strengthened the Cold Chain Infrastructure for COVID vaccination in the State of Himachal Pradesh. In addition to this financial support to Government Hospitals for medical equipment like ventilators, oxygen concentrators, oximeters, and fowler beds, the establishment of isolation beds was also extended. The Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), has been set up jointly by the Planning Commission, the Government of India & the Indian Construction Industry. It is an umbrella organization for the construction industry in India that undertakes a wide range of activities to benefit the industry.
